Recommending a grant to Maine Preservation through your Donor Advised Fund (DAF) allows you to strategically plan your giving while making a significant impact on our organization.
When you contribute to your DAF, you receive an immediate tax deduction, reducing your taxable income for the year of the contribution. The funds in your DAF are invested and tax-free, which means you can potentially grow your account and generate more dollars for charity.
If you have questions about how your gift may be designated, please email Kyle Clifford at kyle@mainepreservation.org or call 207-847-3577.

If you’re 70½ or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), also known as a charitable IRA rollover, directly from your IRA to Maine Preservation.
With a QCD, the distribution does not get treated as income to you, reducing your risk of entering a higher tax bracket.
You may give up to the annual IRS limit ($111,000 in 2026) without including the distribution in your taxable income, making it a tax-smart way to support our mission.
If you're 73 or older and need to take Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs), your QCD counts toward your annual IRS requirement.
Contact your tax advisor for more details. Maine Preservation cannot offer legal or tax advice.
