Founded in 1972, Maine Preservation is a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and preserving historic places, buildings, downtowns and neighborhoods—strengthening the cultural and economic vitality of Maine communities.

Recognizing the architectural, historic, and cultural significance of the Seal Harbor Yacht Club, Maine Preservation has entered into an agreement to protect the preservation values of the property and act as fiscal sponsor of the rehabilitation and relocation of the clubhouse.
