Maine preservation 11th annual gala: maine’s harvest and Bounty

Maine Preservation presents Maine’s Harvest and Bounty, a virtual resource exploring many of Maine’s historic barns, orchards, and indigenous sites. Discover the history of Maine’s harvest season and learn about how you can participate!

You can also learn the history of this season from experts John Bunker, Founder, Maine Heritage Orchard; James E. Francis, Sr., Tribal Historian, Penobscot Nation; Brother Arnold Hadd, Shaker Member and Elder, Sabbathday Lake Shaker Village; and Arron Sturgis, Owner, Preservation Timber Framing.

This visual exploration is part of an ongoing project at Maine Preservation to highlight some of Maine’s most historic and significant sites. Other virtual maps in this project include Mapping Black History in Maine and the #DriveME Historic Tours. Making these sites more accessible to the public in an interactive way allows us to better connect with and understand Maine’s rich history.
