New Dollars/New Partners for Sacred Places

2007 Northern New England New Dollars/New Partners Training Session, May 18-19th

New Dollars/New Partners is offered by Partners for Sacred Places, the only national organization providing practical help on property care and stewardship to congregations with older religious properties. This training combines the best of the resources, techniques, and knowledge developed by Partners since 1989, and is the only one of its kind to focus on community-serving congregations with older and historic properties.

New Dollars/New Partners is the nation’s only program that provides practical tools to help congregations with older and historic buildings broaden and diversify the circles of donors and partners that can support the care and good use of their irreplaceable buildings.

Elim Community Church, Brunswick; St. James Episcopal Church, Old Town

New Dollars/New Partners consists of four full day training modules for teams of three people from up to fifteen congregations in the tri-state area ( Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire ) led by Partners’ staff and consultants, and spaced over several months. The time provided between modules allows the teams to utilize the skills they have learned. The training includes: identifying strategies for building support from members and generating new sources of capital funds from the larger community ; writing a strong case statement for funding support ; organizing to carry out a capital campaign ; and developing an action plan to help groups meet fundraising goals after the training is over.
