Richmond Hotel - Richmond (c. 1836) Year listed: 1997 Saved! This 3-story post and beam former hotel, was built in 1836. There is 4000 sq. ft. of floor area on a large lot. It is located three miles east from I-95 and across the street from a deep water public park overlooking the Kennebec River and Swan Island in Richmond Village. The property was sold in 2002 for $50,000. The new owner has rehabilitated and renovated the building turning the Richmond Hotel into five apartment rental units and an owner's unit. The owner was awarded federal and state historic preservation tax incentives for this income-producing property rehabilitated according to the standards set by the Secretary of the Interior, making it a certified rehabilitation project.
